We are committed to providing a safe, caring, and stimulating environment, and providing a developmentally appropriate program based on the needs of each individual "whole" child. We believe play to be an active form of learning that helps foster development in each individual child and contributes to social, cognitive, physical, and learning emotions, while stimulating a child's creative side, problem solving, and self-awareness. We work together with parents to promise the best possible care for their children by using a variety of materials and equipment, and respect for each family's values, traditions, and cultures.
The children at The Growing Patch enjoy a curriculum that is based on the "whole" child and is directed by the child. All planned activities are age appropriate and individualized to fit your child's specific needs and interests. The Growing Patch provides hands-on learning, and discovery of social and emotional concepts. Children of all ages are given the opportunity to grow and develop while enjoying a happy safe environment.
A teacher's support is also seen as a necessary component throughout your child's development. Teacher's will foster children's development by reinforcing the context of play, by introducing different play themes, providing different materials, and help children expand on their ideas. When planning, teachers can determine specific goals and outcomes they want the child to achieve during play. Teachers will alter planned activities to meet each child's stage of development. Children will gain more knowledge on different cultures, customs. and other
diversities. Children will also expand their language by using sign language daily.
